Description
Union Avenue May 31st 1903 Flood.
This photo is most likely the proceeding days' as the river created. Looking South.
As seen from the Depot's covered porch - main entrance.
On the East side of the street was the Union Depot RR Station (1878 -1914). Opposite, was the famous Blossom House hotel. Notice the 2 people standing on the Blossom House balcony. And another person looking out the 3rd story window. The Police began evacuating the Union Depot and surrounds about noon on May 31st. I suspect these "3" stayed to guard the Blossom from looters.
Opposite the Union Depot and right from the Blossom House (North) is Johnston's Cafe. On the morning of June 3rd; the Cafe's wall clock stops when flooding reaches 7' feet / 2" inches ( 2.1844 m ). Digital re-mastered from an original b/w photo. Colors are suggestive, but may not be historically active.

Artistically: wonderful. Theme wise: very sad and depressing. Well done.
